This past Spring we approached Artcrank about doing some co-branded bags. They quickly improved the idea by suggesting the bags be used, not only to help promote the Artcrank Shows, but also to raise money for some worthy charities.

#35.00 from the sale of each bag will be donated to Full Cycle.

Full Cycle is a nonprofit program serving young people ages 23 and under in need of stable housing an other vital community resources in the Twin Cities. Full Cycle provide homeless and at-risk youth with access to free and healthy transportation, employment opportunities, and connections to other essential resources. Full Cycle teaches young people the importance of biking and recycling, and provides them with the time and space they need to take a break from the stresses of street life. Full Cycle gives youth the opportunity to learn, create and have fun.

About the Backpack

2000 cubic inches (20″ H x 12.5″ L x 8″ W). 500 more cubic inches opens up a variety of hauling options for those commuters who cannot resist bringing it all. (And that means you). The same great two layer design keeps everything on the inside snug and dry while the ballistic nylon shell takes all the abuse. A freshly re-designed liner is stronger than previous versions and totally replaceable for about the same cost as a good sixer of brew.

FEATURES

2000 cubic inches (20″ H x 12.5″ L x 8″ W)

Waterproof 2-layer design: outer ballistic nylon layer wears like iron; replaceable waterproof liner keeps contents dry in a downpour.

A comfortable alternative to messenger bags – provides enough space for most commuters and students

Wide padded straps distribute load more evenly than messenger bags

Sits lower on the back than standard backpacks to reduce blind spots

Quick-access side pocket fits mini-U lock

Angled tab for safety light so that light faces back while riding

Large reflective stripes

Shoulder strap mounted cell phone holder

About the ArtCrank Poster Show

Bikes are the world’s most fun and accessible way to get around. Posters are the world’s most fun and accessible art form. ARTCRANK brings them together.

ARTCRANK is a showcase of bicycle-inspired original poster artwork that people can enjoy looking at and afford to take home. ARTCRANK began in Minneapolis in 2007, and has expanded to Denver, St. Louis, Portland, San Francisco and Des Moines. In September 2010, we’ll hold our first international show in London.

Every ARTCRANK show features posters created by local artists from the host city. Admission is always free, and posters are priced to let everybody take home at least one.

It seems I can’t put a pair of socks in the wash without the pair being divorced in some fashion and me ending up with a drawer full of single socks. The remedy? Order socks in ten dozen lots. Never again will I be forced to show up for a group ride with two different socks. I’ll rock the Banjo Brothers (by SockGuy) 4″ wool cycling sock. 75% isowool, 15% nylon, 10% spandex and 100% love. All the great features you’ve come to expect from SockGuy – double cuff, stretch-to-fit sizing, double-stitched heel and toe and cool, airflow mesh above your foot for max ventilation. Dueling Banjo Logos (You know I had to write that didn’t you..) on each side of your ankles.

We have some blemished Medium Saddlebags. Someone (not naming names) handled these during inspection with some dirty fingers and left some random marks on the leather portions. None of the marks would be noticed after a few days of use, but we can’t sell them as new and perfect bags. Samples of the marks are shown in the photos – we cannot show you the exact bag you will receive. If you treat the leather as we recommend with mink oil paste or Brooks Proofide(r), they will be even less noticeable.

This is a huge saddle bag with the capacity of many rack trunks (great for road bikes without rear racks). You can pack a picnic and extra clothes while the 3-point attachment and hardwood internal support keep the load stable. You can also use the outer lashing rings to attach a jacket or your walking shoes.

This a traditional design that works best with your saddle mounted in a forward or neutral position on your seatpost. If your saddle is pushed all the way back on the seatpost, you may have some interference with your upper leg. There are various solutions to reduce this overlap including using a small wood spacer between the seatpost and bag to reduce overlap.

Max. Dimensions: 9”L x 9”H x 11”W – 650 cubic inches / 10L

Thick hardwood dowel inside supports heavy loads

Main panel of bag is a durable sandwich of 1 ½ layers of 18oz. canvas, thin padding, and an off-white canvas liner for a brighter interior.

Bottom reinforced with a riveted HDPE plate to keep bag from sagging under load.

Exterior lashing points (extra straps not included).

Detachable reflective tabs.

Interior key/wallet pocket.

Imported.
